
Chris Chuckran | Organizational Co-Chair
Chris received his B.S. in Bioengineering from Rice University and is currently a 3rd year graduate student in the Immunology PhD program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His research focuses on overcoming barriers to effective cancer immunotherapy through destabilization of suppressive immune subsets. Chris first dove into consulting as a member of Hitachi Consulting Corporation following his undergraduate studies and is excited to utilize the experience he gained in that role while in Pittsburgh. Outside of the lab, you are most likely to find Chris enjoying the outdoors with camera in hand, training for his next track race, or relaxing at a local coffee shop with a good book or new music. Chris currently serves as CEO of Fourth River Solutions.
Justin Bobo | Organizational Co-Chair
Justin is a rising 4th year PhD Candidate in the Carnegie Institute of Technology at Carnegie Mellon University. He is a part of the Soft Machine Lab and LeDuc Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department. His research focuses on noninvasive, wearable technology and electronics for biosensing to propel personalized health while utilizing statistical and machine learning to deliver actionable data. He also works on biomechanics to develop an approach to help aid in determining injury, response, and healing timelines of trauma in neurons through a tissue on a chip system. Justin co-founded the Carnegie Mellon Graduate Consulting Club (CMGCC) and currently serves as the President. Outside of the lab, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, tennis, and basketball.

Ethan Bassin | Case Creation Committee Chair
Ethan is a fifth year PhD candidate in the Immunology program at the University of Pittsburgh and the Vice President of Business Development at Fourth Rivers Solutions. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in Bioengineering and a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. In his free time Ethan enjoys trying new restaurants, ice skating, and listening to podcasts.
Muying is a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering program at the University of Pittsburgh, Swanson School of Engineering. Her research focuses on understanding systems-level mechanisms of diseases and drugs using computational methodologies. Muying is also the Operations and Informatics Associate of Fourth River Solutions. In her free time Muying enjoys learning foreign languages and travelling.
Song-My is a fourth year PhD candidate in Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. She also serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer of Fourth River Solutions. She is passionate about entrepreneurship and writing. Outside of the lab, you can find Song-My running on the streets of Pittsburgh with an eye for new restaurants and fun activities to do in the city. She is currently in the search for the best tacos in town. Song-My also enjoys camping, hosting board game nights, and obsessing over corgis.
Amanda Henton | Social Media and Team Recruitment
Amanda is a 3rd year PhD student in the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research research focuses on cortical plasticity in inhibitory neurons after hearing loss and in disorders such as tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Amanda is also the new Chief Operating Officer of Fourth River Solutions. Outside of the lab, she enjoys distance running, playing the oboe, and spending time with her new kitten, Ruby.
